Day 1: SAN JOSE

Arrival in San Jose, where one of our representatives will be meeting you to transport you to the Hotel Vesuvio (or similar) for welcome drink and orientation to the country.

Day 2: ARENAL / LA PAZ / TABACON

Shortly after breakfast, your rental car will be delivered to begin 4 hour journey to the Arenal Volcano, one of the world's most active. Stop for tour and lunch at La Paz Waterfall Gardens. When you think about Costa Rica, you probably imagine lush tropical Rain Forests, flowing white rivers, spectacular waterfalls, birds, butterflies and flowers. At La Paz Waterfall Gardens, you will see all that and more. Afterwards, continue on to Arenal and stop for a relaxing soak and dinner at the thermal pools of TABACON HOT SPRINGS, whose warm, mineral-rich waters are heated within the volcano. Overnight at Arenal Lodge (or similar) where you will have a spectacular view of the volcano's nighttime eruptions. (B, L, D)

Day 3: ARENAL

Morning horseback ride/hike to La Fortuna Waterfall then afternoon free to explore the area. Overnight at Arenal Lodge (B)

Day 4: ARENAL - CARARA

After breakfast, travel to the Mid Pacific Coast to visit Carara Biological Reserve, "Place of the Crocodiles", and a protected transition forest that is home to an unbelievable diversity of plants and animals. Carara is also considered a sanctuary of the rare and beautiful Scarlet Macaw. Afternoon to relax or do some hiking in the hotel's private reserve. Overnight at the Villa Lapas Hotel. (B)

Day 5: CARARA

Morning at leisure to enjoy the facilities of the hotel. Afternoon Crocodile Jungle Safari, offers a chance for some close encounters with this reptile and many more animals and birds as you travel by boat through the tropical mangroves of Guacalillo. Overnight at the Villa Lapas. (B)

Day 6: SAN JOSE / RETURN HOME

Early morning drive back to San Jose to connect with return flight home and the end to an unforgettable vacation!!! (B)
