Day 1:  San José / Turrialba

Arrival in San Jose, pick up at airport and transfer to Casa Turire Hotel. Casa Turire is a haven of gracious charm set in the verdant, agricultural region of Turrialba, and it is an ideal base camp for exploring Costa Rica. The hotel possesses twelve rooms and four suites, all of grand prestige. These spacious rooms—with strong, beautiful wood floors, high ceilings, and private balconies—offer spectacular views of the surrounding hills. Each one is uniquely designed with elaborate furniture of locally cultivated wood. The headboards in the rooms are of fine timber, and they compliment perfectly the florally patterned, stucco walls. Each room welcomes you with direct dial telephones, satellite TV, hair dryers, and toiletries in the bathrooms. **Accommodations in a Jr. Superior Room.

 

Day 2:   Turrialba

After breakfast prepare for a horseback riding tour, one of the most memorable experiences at Casa Turire. You will be accompanied by a genuine vaquero, or cowboy, on your journey into the hillsides. From the many, breathtaking lookout points, you will marvel at the beauty of the Turrialba Valley and the Angostura Lake. Along the way you will observe and learn about sugarcane and coffee. Later in the afternoon, prepare for a volcano view, relaxing couples massage out on the garden or patio. Overnight in Casa Turire. (B)

 

Day 3:   Turrialba / Pacuare Rafting Tour / Punta Uva

After breakfast, prepare for an exciting day of white-water rafting (Class III-IV) on the River Pacuare, Costa Rica's most scenic and the quintessential tropical river with densely vegetated gorges, waterfalls, exuberant wildlife and ravishing rapids. Total trip length - 18 miles, difficulty - Class (III-IV). Drop off afterwards in Tree House Lodge, the tree house lodge, on Costa Rica’s southern Caribbean coast, is a place where nature lovers and romantics can easily become enthused. Imagine staying in a house wrapped around sangrillo trees with the master bedroom in heaven and the kitchen the size of a dance hall. Or cooking and dining with a view, and being able to walk to the second floor over steel-cable bridges. You could also choose to sleep in a beach house 80 meters away from the shoreline with an amazing open ceiling and window/door effect; the monstrous, sky lighted bathroom; to the setting, where basically you're in the rain forest itself. Day 4:  Punta Uva

Pick up at your hotel for a visit to the BRI-BRI INDIGENOUS RESERVE. On this tour you will visit the Green Iguana´s farm and medicinal plant garden at the Kekoldi Native Reserve that is a big rural touristy attraction, place where a small indigenous family dedicates itself to the reproduction of the Green Iguana (Iguana iguana), species that was on the way to extinction and thanks to initiatives like these to state recovering. Also a route by the Garden of Medicinal Plants will be made, that the natives by hundreds of years have used. This tour is guided by a local guide.

We continued soon to the Bri-Bri Indigenous Reserve to visit the waterfall after coexist with the neighbors, you will have a snack of tropical fruits from the season (watermelon, pineapple, maracuya, melon, papaya, etc...) and potable water. Then we will be waiting for you at the restaurant with a delicious traditional lunch in the community of Bri- Bri.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Hat or cap, insect repellent, sneakers or sandals, bathing suit, towel, sun glasses and camera.
INCLUDES: Round trip transportation from your hotel, bilingual guide specialized in the Bri-Bri culture, fresh tropical fruits snack and bottle of water, lunch. Overnight in Tree House Lodge. (L)

 

Day 5:   Punta Uva

Pick up at your hotel and prepare for a snorkeling day tour in a glass fiber boat, where your captain and guide will show you 35 different coral species such as: The fire coral, Elkhorn and the Smooth brain coral; 123 different species of tropical fish such as: Queen Angelfish and Blue parrot fish; 44 species of crustaceans, 140 shellfish, 128 identified algae. Other species such as: sea urchins, sea cucumber, lobsters, sponges, hawksbill turtle and green turtle. You can practice the snorkeling for 2 or 3 hours, in different places of the most important Coral Reef of Costa Rica. Evening free to explore nearby towns and beaches, enjoy nightlife and visit local restaurants. Overnight in Tree House Lodge (L)

 

Day 6:   Punta Uva / Veragua Rainforest / San José

Depart Punta Uva and head to Veragua Rainforest Research and Adventure Park, a world-class sustainable development adventure park, whose mission is to provide its visitors with the best rainforest experience in the Caribbean part of Costa Rica. The naturalist guides will lead you through their live snake, frog and butterfly exhibitions in an unparalleled interactive set-up, designed with the scientific expertise of the National Biodiversity Institute (INBio), a world renowned research and conservation organization. During the tour enjoy as well The Canopy Tour, which offers the adventurous tourist the opportunity to ascend into the forest canopy and see jungle life from a different perspective. This is accomplished by modifying techniques used by spelunkers (cavers) and canyon rappelers to provide a safe and enjoyable passage above the forest floor. Overnight in Hotel Grano de Oro, a true oasis in the center of San Jose, this hotel exudes the charm and character of a stately mansion with the comfort and amenities of a fine hotel.  Warmly decorated rooms and suites (all non-smoking), a secluded garden terrace with large jacuzzi, and courtyards with fountains and abundance of tropical plants and flowers in a quiet area west of the town center.  Delicious meals and desserts served in the intimate dining room, adjacent sunroom and tropical courtyard. Day 7:   RETURN HOME

Pick up at hotel and transfer to San Jose’s International Airport for return flight home and the end to an unforgettable vacation/adventure!!!!
