La Leona Ecolodge offers a unique experience for nature lovers and follows the philosophy of ecotourism with its protection of over 90 acres of primary forest in its private reserve, combined with another 340 acres that have been protected by the Morales Polanco family since 1976.

The unique design of La Leona invites you to enjoy the scenic beauty of this extraordinary area, while experiencing the refreshing ocean breeze, and romantic and colorful sunsets, all from the privacy of the deck in your tent. At the same time you can experience the magic atmosphere of the surrounding tropical rainforest with all its sounds and aromas.

The Ecolodge consists of twenty double and single tents stretching along the beach front with views of the Pacific Ocean and Corcovado National Park. At La Leona Ecolodge, you can feel the refreshing ocean and sleep with the sound of the waves, in the heart of the rainforest! You will be inspired from the magical feelings of the tropical lowland rainforest while enjoying a spectacular sunset with a glass of wine from the deck of your tent.

Their roofed open-air restaurant "Jardines del Mar", offers guests a great variety of traditional Costa Rican as well as international dishes, with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. All meals at Jardines del Mar have the special touch of the local chef, who prepares the delicious meals with a special selection of local ingredients to the ultimate satisfaction of guests.

La Leona offers a variety of activities including guided hikes to world-famous Corcovado National Park, horse back riding on the beach, local gold digging handcraft tour, and educational seasonal turtle watching, just to name a few. Or you can just do nothing and enjoy a relaxing siesta in one of the hammocks on the beach while listening to the sounds of the rain forest.

Come to La Leona Ecolodge and experience the complexity and the evolutionary work of nature.  You can be part of their goal to preserve the natural resources of such a pristine place, and to protect in a sustainable way, for future generations to enjoy.
