Welcome to LagunaVista Lodge, your private wildlife refuge on the tropical southwest Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.

Overlooking Playa Carate and a freshwater lagoon, LagunaVista lodge is the gateway to Corcovado National Park, one of the most bio-diverse places on our planet and a popular area for eco-tourists and researchers alike.

Spectacular scenery, lush rainforest and the abundant wildlife of Corcovado National Park attract international visitors to this unspoiled paradise, one of the few remaining primary lowland rainforests in the tropics.

LagunaVista's villas are solar powered and eco-friendly, and provide superior accommodation in comfortable surroundings. Panoramic vistas of the rainforest, lagoon, beach, ocean and sky unfold before you from your villa's deck.

Laguna Vista's villas merge classic Mediterranean style with the vibrancy of the rainforest. All units include twin hot water showers, bathtubs, ceiling fans and custom-made king size beds for maximum comfort. Expansive wooden decks with plunge pools look out over tranquil rainforest, lagoon, beach and ocean panoramas. Solar systems power all units.

For swimming, sunbathing and relaxation, there's the beautiful new infinity pool. Overlooking the ocean and lagoon, the pool area also includes a ranchito complete with lounging mattresses. Sunsets are even more enjoyable from the poolside Mango Bar.

Surrounded by rainforest, lagoon and ocean, LagunaVista offers various kinds of activities, from the relaxing and rejuvenating to the adventurous and exciting:

  • Hiking & Horseback Riding
  • Birding & Wildlife Viewing
  • Sun & Water

Whether on the property itself, along the rivers or down the beach to the Corcovado National Park, beautiful trails and hiking opportunities abound. Day trips to the Madrigral River and hiking up to the Carate waterfall offer spectacular rainforest viewing and scenery.

You may choose organized treks in groups with guides or wander alone along private trails. Horses with guides are available for those who prefer to see the rainforest, rivers and beach from a different angle and pace, or ride to nearby Rio Oro and try your luck at gold panning.
