Set on the slopes of the amazing Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and flowing through its pristine National Park, the Cucaracho river is an exciting and new rafting trip in the Northern part of Costa Rica. This is Costa Rica's new World Class Rafting Adventure, an awesome 12 mile stretch of river packed with over 70 class 3 & 4 rapids, lush untouched jungle landscapes, walls dripping with waterfalls, and a wide diversity of Flora and Fauna.

There are 4 action packed hours on the river. Halfway down, you will stop for a delicious River Style Lunch giving you some leisure time and a break in the action to restore your energy for the second half of the paddle session to get to the town of Birmania.

The Cucaracho starts after the confluence of 4 beautiful rivers that flow at the north east base of the Rincon De La Vieja Volcano on the Caribbean slopes, by the towns of Dos Rios and Gavilan.

The Rio Azul, Rio Negro and the Rio Penjamo join the Cucaracho River, and become a 12 mile stretch of continuous Class III-IV rapids, + 2 additional class VI rapids, upper and lower Cricket. This newest Costarican adventure will take you through an amazing canyon surrounded by PRIMARY rain forest, and packed with inhabitants such as spider, howler and white face monkeys, exotic tropical birds like the sun bitter, white hawks, herons, egrets and much more. As well as lush landscapes and rainforest walls dripping with cascades. You will paddle over 70 rapids finnishing up at the town of Birmania.

What to bring:
Rubber – soled shoes or sandals, swimsuit/ swim trunks, T-shirt and shorts, waterproof sunscreen lotion, croakies or straps to secure glasses, change of clothes including shoes for after the rafting tour, towel.
