These eight luxurious bungalows are located in the heart of the Los Santos Forest Reserve, some 80 km from the capital city of San José off the Pan-American Highway heading towards the southern part of Costa Rica. |

The small village of San Gerardo de Dota is only a few kilometers away. Constructed on the top of a hill in the middle of this valley full of Quetzals, these bungalows offer a spectacular view of the cloud forest at an altitude of 2600 meters. The primary forest with century old oak trees is less than a minute’s walk away. |

Every bungalow consists of one or two bedrooms with private bathroom and a terrace. The four-person bungalows have a living room with a fully equipped kitchen. All the rooms offer spectacular views of the valley with its cloud covered mountains.
All Standard rooms have queen-sized beds, goose-feather duvets, heating, minibar, coffeemaker, Satellite TV, private terrace, Jacuzzi, hairdryer and safe deposit box. The 2 four-person bungalows also have a kitchen.

The Suite is larger than the standard rooms and offers a cozy fireplace and a private garden with terrace where you can choose to have your breakfast brought to you.
A walking trail system provides access to the nearby nine hectare private cloud forest reserve. Furthermore, they are the closest hotel to the newly created Los Quetzales National Park. |

Breakfast à la carte, which is included in the rates, is available beginning at 7:00 am. Lunch is also offered at the restaurant and for dinner there is a typical Costa Rican restaurant with very good local food just 500 meters up the road. It is possible to order dinner and have it delivered right to your own bungalow. |

ACTIVITIES |
For most people it is almost a must to see the Quetzal. Dantica Lodge offers tours with the best guides in the valley to spot them which is normally early in the morning. However, with a bit of luck you can see them from the lodge or walking on the trails anytime of day. |
The road continues downhill for another 6 kilometers through lush lower montane forest. At the end, there is a trail that takes you to the most beautiful waterfall of the valley. The hike is not too easy and will take at least 3 hours. There are some nice trails in this lower region with beautiful fern-trees. The presence of some restaurants makes it ideal to combine this day-trip with some fresh apple or peach juice. |
