Bosque de Paz Rain / Cloud Forest is a 1000 hectares (3000-acres) privately-owned Biological Reserve that, as a natural biological corridor, connects the Poás Volcano National Park with the Juan Castro Blanco National Park. It is a spectacular rich ecosystem because of its privileged location. It is located on the Continental Divide with altitudes ranging from 1450 to 2450 meters above sea level. |

The lodge offres 12 rooms surrounded by forest and a hummingbird, and butterfly garden. The rooms are fully furnished with exclusive ironworks and Costa Rican pottery. Each one has two double beds, private bathroom, and hot water. Wide balconies offer beautiful views to the forest. |

At the Lodge, they have recorded more than 331 species of birds at the preserve since July, 1997, including Resplendent Quetzal, Scaled Antpitta, Black Guan, Emerald Toucanet, Three Wattled Bellbird, Ornate Hawk-Eagle, Zeledonia, and Silvery-fronted, Tapaculo, Black--faced Solitaire, American Dipper, Golden-browed Chlorophonia, among many others, and abundant hummingbirds. |

You'll always with friends at Bosque de Paz Private Nature Reserve, whether it be visiting with the owners, Federico Gonzalez-Pinto and his wife, Vanessa, or going on guided nature and orchid garden hikes with the knowledgable staff. For the adventureous, a longer guided hike to their own waterfall is an amazing wonder you'll always remember. View some of their orchid specimens at the research center with the resident naturalists, or wander by yourself through the signed, cloud forest trails close to the lodge |

Transfers from San Jose area hotels or San Jose's Juan Santamaría International Airport to hotels in the Arenal area are $160.00 each way, for a minivan with a capacity of up to 9 passengers. Approximate time from San José to the Arenal area is approx 2 hours and 45 minutes. Transfer from Juan Santamaría International Airport to any hotel in San José $35, including airport assistance, for a minivan with a capacity of up to 9 passengers. |
