Several sites are available in Guanacaste including Rincon de la Vieja Volcano National Park and Santa Rosa National Park, which features several kilometers of trail leading to Naranjo and Nancite beaches, where the Olive Ridley turtle nests. This turtle is responsible for the world-famous arribadas or mass nestings that sometimes occur between August and December.
